Memorial Weekend

What a wonderful long weekend it was! Emma enjoyed her first official "swim" and her folks enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Instead of hot dogs and other traditional holiday food, Emma cooked up a nice.....

KNUCKLE SANDWICH!

What can I say... she's almost one... girl has some attitude now.

.... and lots of new teeth.

But most of all, we were happy to celebrate and honor those who have given their lives in service to our great nation. It seemed to hit especially hard this year because of those we have lost. Robby's nephew Daniel gave his life for us almost two years ago. It still seems so fresh a wound. He left behind a beautiful little girl only a few years older than Emma. I am so thankful to him for all he gave...
...so that we can be free.

It's been a rough couple of weeks around here with all of us being sick at some point or other. Emma had strep throat a couple of weeks ago and then had a reaction to the antibiotics she was taking for it. I also took a round of antibiotics for a sinus infection. Then, Robby got sick and, just as he was getting better, I'm the sick one again. It's a rough cycle. And just when the weather is getting nice enough to go outside and the pool is open for the summer. Boo!

During the short blogging hiatus, Emma has gotten her top teeth and it appears she's got a few more trying to come in too. So, here's a picture. Poor thing is sick but still cute as can be!

Here she is with her "Carmen Miranda" look going. I think she's even more ready for the summer than her mother. ;)

Facebook

The blog posts have slowed down a lot since I've started using FaceBook. It feels like I'm repeating myself. But there are a few folks who aren't on FB who check in on EG, so I'll do my best to keep posting until Lisa gets on Facebook. :D
