We're having an issue with our computer. It has decided that it absolutely will not accept ONE MORE PHOTO. Apparently, we have been busy loading up our hard drive with pictures of our lovely and talented daughter for the past two years and, unfortunately, there is a limit. We purchased an external hard drive a while back with plenty of space to back up our computers, but the blasted thing froze up on us and we can't get it to turn loose of our info. That is exactly the opposite of what we bought the silly thing for. Boooo.
Ever the optomists, we purchased a new one with twice the storage space and are hoping it will not go all HAL on us and "picnap" our kid photos.
Because, we are going to need A LOT more space now that we are adding a second adorable child to our family. I can't tell you how many people have told me that we need to make sure we take as many pictures of the second child as we did the first. I can vouch for their concerns. Being the third child in my family, I can verify that the photos of young Michelle are few and far between. In fact, I can remember getting really excited many times while going through family photos, thinking I had found one and then discovering that it was actually a picture of my older brother.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am extremely thankful that there is little photographic evidence existing of "awkward Michelle"-- that gangly, buck-toothed, knock-kneed child with an unfortunate resemblance to somebody's brother. (yes, I was a tomboy). Those were painful years, and not just because of the orthodontic head-gear.
So, hopefully we will soon have room for the photos of Emma's 2nd birthday party. She had such a great time. She has absolutely none of the shyness of her mother. What a ham! She reveled in the attention in a way only a princess could. I hope she never loses her incredible joy for life.
